Detroit Tigers draft former Michigan
State and Corunna High star Brandon Eckerle!
The Detroit Tigers selected former Corunna High standout Brandon Eckerle in the 32nd round (977th overall)
of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft on Wednesday. Brandon has done so much for the Corunna Baseball program and we wish
him the best as he begins a new chapter of his life. More information will be added as it becomes available!
Nice Job Eck!
Cavs drop tough one to Owosso...
Corunna battled back from an 8-4 deficit to tie the game in the top of the seventh with a 2-run HR from Tyler Perkins,
and 2 RBI doubles from Cody Mastrodonato and Jorden Thomson. Owosso's patience at the plate paid dividends as they loaded
the bases with one out and benefited from a hits-batsmen that drove in the winning run.
Corunna finishes 10-17 overall and 4-6 in the league. Thank you to everyone for their support.
Brandon Eckerle...
What a year for "Eck;" MVP
of Big East/Big10 Challenge, Big10 Player of the week, Detroit Athletic Club Male Athlete of the Year, Lowe's Finalist, All-Time
Hits leader at MSU and so much more. Some people say he just gets lucky...when you graduate in 4 years with a 3.98 GPA and
still have time to do all the community service and meet all the demands of collegiate athletics - that's not luck, that's
hard work. Please, vote for Eck - we need to vote each day and get the
word out, he is a great role model for all of us!
